Acknowledging that colonial and imperial expansion was not just of human geographies, but also of non human ones, the film program will explore the ways in which arts have been thinking about a decolonial approach to ecology- an approach to film that places these concerns into diverse research fields and perspectives. For this iteration, Wang will be screening works by Chinese artists He Xiangyu, Li Binyuan and Yu Ji that invite us to confront rethink the dualism between human and nonhuman worlds and how they influence mobility and ideas of home.
