BODY OF SOUND: CUTTING ACROSS THE POLITICAL AND AESTHETIC DIVISIONS
Public Lecture by Samson Young
[The lecture will take 40 minutes, and followed by Q&A. Thai translation provided.]

Samson Young was a trained music composer and multi-disciplinary artist based in Hong Kong. His work plays across political and aesthetic divisions. Young once said that we can logically analyse and intellectually scrutinise, and we can say that ‘this song is wrong.’ But he asked further—what if the song actually moves us? Thus he has been thinking about the power of music that it can cut through the intellectual and it could be a powerful source of control or manipulation.
